Post by ddoubledanny » Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:30 pm

Hi Lg had a problem with the lude tonight my centre console buttons were not lighting up. if I bang the dash they come back on for a few seconds then they go out. I would of
Presumed it to be a loose connection but wouldn't really know just wondered if any one else has had this problem

Yeah it does just sound like a loose connection.

Is it just the heater controls? Or anything else?

Check to see if the switches to the right of the steering wheel come on (fog/cruise/sunroof). If they're off as well, its the little white dimmer pack that lives in the dash near where the clock mounts.

Indigo - in mine, the dimmer switch has nothing to do with the heater controls. The heaters controls dim when I have the lights on, and there's nothing I can do about it!

Jay - the wee white box controls all the dimmer, and it's also what the dimmer switch feeds into if fitted. I forgot to plug it back in once and had no heater illumination till I dismantled the dash again :(

Oh balls :( So somewhere under the dash there's most likely a cable that isn't plugged in? The dimmer works with everything but the heater controls!

Could be the same area you're having trouble with DD?

I hat to say but the heater controlls in 4th gen are a PITA to get at. Tried to do this job because my old UK spec had intermittant lights. Happy to have JDM controlls now :D

Had a quick look the other day and there is 2 connector blocks one with 4 or 5 big
Wires and one with about 14 thiner wires. well the one with 14 wires doesn't click in to the unit when held in place all lights are good sooo either new unit or don't no rele  might be the actual block
