VW relay 99 programmable intermittent windscreen wiper
Post by bb1boy » Mon Apr 15, 2013 11:28 am
Hi guys,
I just got one of these wiper relays, but I can't find any instructions on how to fit it, if any modifications are needed and exactly where it goes in the car.
Has anyone fitted one of these succesfully and come away with a programmable intermittent wiper setting?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Oooft! Been a while since this discussion was active. It's plug and play on most european cars, not so much on the Japanese ones. I think @littlefeller was working on this a while back?

Yup - controlled by a '99' relay.

Apparently most times the pinout is standard, so does this make sense base don the relay you have?
Pin 1 Gnd for wipers On (not intermittent)
Pin 2 Gnd for Intermittent
Pin 3 goes to the wiper motor
Pin 4 is the +12V feed
Pin 5 is unused.
[ edit ] Just found pictures of a 99 relay, seems I may be talking pap

I've been thinking about whether this is possible on a lude, too.
I fitted an 'interval' chip to one of my CX's about 15 years ago. (Can't actually remember which one of them has it fitted now
)
I'd missed the fact my '86 Sunny had adjustable intermittent wipe and it was bloody brilliant to get it back on one of them.
Let us know how you get on!
