4G Aircon Not coming on

Post by uberNoobZA » Sat Mar 12, 2016 12:20 pm

The aircon on my 4G does not come on when I press the A/C button (I don't hear it 'click' on and the engine revs do not change).

I DO like having an aircon, so it would be nice gto keep it, with my current plans for the car.

Any suggestions on things I can check myself before taking it in to get checked ?

Fuses, relays, wiring, visual inspection of all the hoses/pipework/condenser/drier under the bonnet... that's about it really, then it comes down to checking for gas and a vacuum test on the system, gassing up and checking that the valves and compressor changeover correctly.

There is probably a fault finding guide in the service manual that talks through all that in better detail

start the car open the bonnet get someone sat in the car you go look at the aircon compressor get them to switch it on see if the clutched pulley on the aircon pump makes a noise
