Headlight adjusters

Post by Pet0 » Tue Feb 16, 2016 5:20 am

So iv recently faced problem with headlight adjusters.

I got after market headlights that dont have electric adusters build in. Is it possible to add motors to them? They doesnt look that diffrent than OEM lights. I need electric adjusters to register my car.

And car is -97 Prelude 2.0

Most aftermarket lights come with holes in them ready for you to swap the electrical adjusters off your old lights onto the new ones... Got any pictures?

You should be able to just put the ones off your old ones on them..

I would swap original lamps on these for registration but previous owner threw them away. Heres backside of my lamp. I wonder if you can remove that manual adjuster screw and somehow modify so I can instert motor on that.

Ahh ok well that's about of a shitter...

I'm by no means the best person on this as I've never owned a 5th gen and wouldn't know where to find the height adjustment motor on one but from my experience the motors do tend to be part of that manual adjuster for the up and down so I would think you could do that with the right motor but honestly someone else will have a better idea than me...

I actually got the motors bought them on ebay. I just dont know if theres any way to install them on these.. or any other headlights they all seem to only have this manual adjust. I could buy original headlights from honda dealership but they cost 700+ euros so id like to know if theres any cheaper method to get them working :D

@Nafemannathan I think might Have a pic to hand of the back of the headlight, showing how the adjusters are attached (I recently asked a question about 4g headlights and he replied with info about auto adjusters on 5g ones)

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to retrofit the electronic adjuster to these provided the thread of the existing manual adjuster is the same. You'd have to carefully construct the bayonet hole to fix the electronic adjuster in place though. Might have to make extra provisions to prevent it from undoing as well.

Incidentally are you not in the UK? As you don't need electronic adjusters to pass the MOT over here, I'm surprised you'd need them to register it as well. If it's because you have the adjuster knob in the car can you not just remove that and blank it?
