the p28 socketed and chipped ecu sounds pretty good on paper will it work with my 95 2.2 vtec prelude? or would p13 be a better route to go down?

If you just want to run a chipped ecu then stick with a P13 and consider one of the chips nucleustylzlude has to offer (check out the groups forum I believe).

If you want to get your engine properly tuned, then you'll need to consider a P28 or P72, or I think it's a P30. You'll then need to invest in something like Hondata S300 in order to tune it. A P72 will enable you to run the IAB's (The butterfly valves that open up in a standard Prelude inlet manifold to open the dual runners in the higher rev range). A P28 doesn't have IAB compatibility, so you'd have to get those components installed (Not very expensive to do actually). But I'd only be considering those options if you have a number of worthy upgrades to warrant spending near a grand for everything (Ecu, Hondata, tune).

The chipped P13 is a good option if you only have exhaust and intake mods.

or a P08 from a JDM 1.5 SOHC DelSol which is equivalent to a p28 when chipped.

With a chipped P13 you'll see a tiny bit more power (tiny) and have VTEC engagement lowered to 5K. Its is better to drive than an unchipped P13 IMO.

A full tune with modded P28/P72 is the better option but it is much more expensive.

Yes it works but it will throw a constant CEL for missing knock sensor. You could retrofit a knock sensor to your H22a2 though. I ran a JDM Spoon P13 ECU for a few years with my old H22a2 and I didn't fit a knock sensor but I had to live with that CEL :( . It made around 200bhp (around 15bhp over stock) with minimal mods.

i can defiently live with the cel doesnt bother me at all....so you reckon with a p13 spoon chipped ecu 2.5" decat custom exhaust and induction kit and maybe a pro throttle body...do you think ill make close to 200bhp? thats my goal

I wouldn't bother with the throttle body, but yeah it will make power in that range.
