Full security plan.
Full security plan.
Hi guys.
I've mooved to another place since a week, an apartement around a course with a gate.
There is 8 apartement around this course with all siting room windows oriented on the course. My car is parked right under my apartement, right in front of the gate.
The gate doesn't lock anymore and I have nothing to attached my bike. It get stolen this night/morning but it was all rusted so I don't care.
I've learned the lesson and my aim is now to avoid to have the same thing happening to my lude.
I'll receive soon a red JDM interior ( emergency towels needed !!! ) so I'll take of my whole interior and have access to all wires.
So I was thinking of going with a full security system (Inside and outside the Lude) to have the peace of mind, this is priceless to me.
Here is what I was thinking about :
Inside :
- GPS Tracker. (to have a chance to recover my car before it's parted out/ used for a stick-up.)
- Anti-lift Alarm. (for my future wheels)
- Anti-vibration Alarm. (to prevent intrusion)
- Anti-intrusion Alarm. (to confirm intrusion)
- A kill-switch.
Outside :
- Vidéo-camera(s). (This have to be wire less but... How to power the cameras ? )
And maybe an in-car camera.
Idealy all those stuffs will send me alerts on an Iphone 4S.
If you have any recommendations on my plan/hardware choice, let me know.
And, don't think I'm going paranoïd but the town I'm living now really sucks, arrogant peoples asking for cigarrets 3/4 times each day, etc, this kind of state of mind, sure you get it.

Re: Full security plan.
All 10000+ inhabitants towns in France are like this. I dont know what an immobiliser is, can you explain ?
The thing is that with this set up, there is almost no chances that someone still my car even with the key. If he tries, there is good chances I beat his *ss up before he find how to start it and if he is succesfull, I have records and the GPS tracker to recover my Lude.
And what about the OEM coded key system ? I've heard it is almost impossible to start a Lude thanks to it.

OEM coded key is an immobiliser. If you don't have one you can install it as a separate device, but... Good alarms have this built in. I would sugest alarm with optional sensors and two way communication, which means your keyfob will make a noise when alarm is triggered. Also good alarms have this built in. Most alarms have only shock sensors. As an option you can buy microvawe sensor which will protect interior very well and you can use second zone to protect your car outside. It will triger prealarm any time somebody will pass protected zone, also dogs, cats and other animals.
If you can see your car from your windows then the only sensible camera will be one looking from your appartament. Incar system will register everything but memory card will stay in the car. Wireless one will use a lot more power and still may be not enough powerfull to receive it's signal upstairs.
And IMHO hiden kill switch is way better protection than any alarm. Nobody expect this and also have no idea where to look for it. It saved my CRX long time ago.

20, 000volt dump capacitor energised and wired to the door handles.
Id like to see anyone steal a car while in convulsions.
I'm not sure of the french law on mantraps but its guarenteed to work so long as they are not wearing rubber gloves.
Or toad make good alarms that include all the things you need.

I've tought about the wheel clamp but I think it can be an indicator... "Oh look, its protected, must worths a lot of money!"
For caméras, the problem is that I can not see my car from my windows because the car is under the apartment.
The 2 microwaves sensors for in/outside seems to be a good compromise. Thanks for the return of experience with your CRX
any recommandations in wires/switch specs ?
