To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

ELD electronic load detector

Post by DaveRobbo82 » Tue Mar 01, 2016 8:48 pm

Hi this code has popped up since I did an engine swap front 2.0 to jdm h22a. I can't find where the eld is. My prelude is 95 bb3. Anyone any ideas on how to fish this cheers.

Common sense would dictate that is where it'd be located I think

What does the service manual flow chart for that fault code say to check?

The eld is built into the under bonnet fuse box. Replace the fuse box to sort that out however usually the alternator is at fault first.

I'm going to blow this car up... Changed fuse box and still getting the code. Plus code 22 has popped up. The car drives like crap and the speedo needle doesn't move. The car will only rev up to 3000 rpm and do about 25 mph. .

Annoying...

Did you follow the checks in the service manual, or just change the fuse box?
Was the fuse box from the same model?

Code 22 is a vtec fault. The guide for fault finding that code is in the first supplement to the service manual.

Your symptoms sound like ignition related problems (including knock sensor, if yours is a jdm car).

As this is fresh from an engine swap...
  • Was it a 4th gen JDM h22 that you swapped in, or 5th gen?
What engine loom did you use?
    What ECU are you using?
What engine ancillaries (all the electrical bits) are you using - i.e. which engine did all the bits come from?
Aside from engine, engine loom and ECU, what other bits did you change at the same time?
