Help! MSD ignitionbox box broken

Post by gb-lude » Wed Feb 24, 2016 11:37 pm

Hi guys.
My MSD ignitionbox multispark 6AL is broken..
It just stopped working. Opened it and can't see anything wrong ( no burned out circuits)

Did the tests MSD recommend but no luck.

Who can or knows somebody who might be able to fix it?
I will pay the shipment costs from and back to the Netherlands and of course for the repairs.

I really am a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff and buying a new one is not an option.

If you require a picture of the inside of the ignition box let me know!

Thank you in advance

Looks pretty run of the mill stuff.
Any local electronics company should be able to go through and test the individual components for you. The pain is that it's been semi potted (loads of lacquer) so you can't get straight in and test stuff without cleaning that first and the bigger problem will be if they'be used any EPROMS they won't necessarily have access to the software, but I expect it will just be either one of the transformers or transistors gone down.
Does it smell at all?
Alternatively @bluejackhustler might offer to look at it for you?

Hmm, I'll look at pretty much anything but with no schematics and no adequate way of testing the unit it would have to be a no in this case. Thanks for the recommendation though Wurly!
