Just a update on car all the wiring has been fried from bonnet to to boot what's caused it is unknown as damage is to bad so another dead lude RIP

That's awful.

It would be useful to know what caused it ... you can then be prepared when you get another one.

I'm skint at mo just moved house as well so no car for a why I may get another if it's a good one an cheap otherwise it be a cheap roundabout, I used that car everyday never a problem with it so I like to no why it went like that to

im very dubious on that garage verdict :think: have you seen the damage they have found for yourself?

sounds to me they don't know what it is and are trying to get you to just bin the car :?

Seen all the wires melted together full length of car I've never seen anything like it just a melted mess

pretty easy to rewire it buddy with a second hand loom have you made any alterations to the loom?

Haven't touched it an I wouldn't know where to start mate never changed one before an wouldn't no what other damage it would of done

I have seen that before - I had it happen to me on a CX in the middle of Oxford city centre :lol:
(nothing to do with the original wiring btw, it was where some numpty had put in an extra relay, used uninsulated spade terminals and wrapped them in insulating tape, which had slipped in the heat of the engine bay and hence shorted to chassis :roll: :tosser: )

Gutted for you though matey. However, as merc says, loom from a donor lude is an option. It's actually not that bad a job to swap it all on a lude (i have taken full loom out of a 3g and 4g).
Get some pics of the damage? Might actually be possible to work around it...

Failing which, there was a very cheap 5g advertised on here last week? See if that's still available?
