Avenger front bumper = hidden indicators. Any ideas?

Post by broozlude » Fri Sep 06, 2013 7:52 pm

I have bought an avenger front bumper for my 5th gen, tried to get it fitted and then realised that the indicators and front fogs are hidden by it as the cut outs do not match the OEM ones. Apparently the kits when new come with replacements or fittings but I can't find these anywhere...
After lots of googling it seems like there are 2 popular options:
1. Lash on some cable ties for the indicators and make up some custom attachments for the fogs and mount them behind the mesh.
2. Keep the lude pure and stick with the OEM bumper.

Anyone got any other solutions or votes on the above?
Is there anywhere you can buy the west wing parts?

Thanks in advance everyone :-)

I say behind the mesh if they pass an MOT.

You know you can add a poll to your thread ;-)

they will pass the mot behind the mesh as long as 50% of the light shines through.

That 5th gen with the Avenger front bumper and cf bonnet and race livery is absolutely stunning
Looks similar to the Wings West big mouth bumper for the 4th gen.

Note: At least 50% of light sources within a lamp must illuminate
That doesn't suggest that to me Sam. To me that says that if there's two bulbs in a lamp at least one of them must work. I've never seen an indicator lamp with two bulbs in it, but that's how that's worded.

If it's to do with how much light shines though, what's it gauged against?

if fli eye is classed as legal then why would fitting the light behind a mesh be different?

also to add further down.

" The precise position and angle of visibility of direction indicators are not part of this inspection, but they must be on each side of the longitudinal axis of a solo machine.
