5G Rust and MOT.

Well it's that time of year again and I'm doing my pre-MOT checks and found that when pushing on the inner rear arches at the bottom by the skirts that my fingers went straight through! :o

I jacked the rear end up to see how far it is from any mounting points and found it falls foul of the within 30cm of the mounts for the rear seatbelts.

My question to you guys is; Can I remove the rust, leaving holes in the inner arches and still pass the MOT?
I now don't have the time to get to my brother's to weld them up because of work and him moving house.

And yes, I am now kicking myself for not taking time off work to weld in the arches I got from Cebul! :(

Cheers guys.
Lee.

Oh it will happen Mercutio. I just don't have time and tools to get it done before my MOT! :x

they are going to fail that buddy unless you have something to cover it and some stone chip to go on and then throw some dirt on it to make it look uniform but even then I am not sure it will be missed

Bah. Cheers. Will see what I can do!

And then it will be time to suck it up and cut out my arches and weld the new ones in!

It is hard to see from the pics but I doubt that is an MOT fail. It is not a major structural location. The seat belts might be on a different panel so might not fall foul of the 30cm distance thing. I have a big hole in roughly the same location and it has always passes MOT (legit MOT ;)) fine

Duck tape over the holes then slap loads of underseal over it.
