Yes, I've done it loads of times to loads of cars and normally not a problem - just spray all the electrical connectors and coil, dizzy, etc., in WD40 before hand and leave to soak for 5 mins. It works its way in to the electrical joints and won't let the water follow - the jetwash blasts off the excess, anyway. I use my garden Karcher jetwasher.

The only caveat is that a jetwash is likely to take the paint off any ageing rocker cover, or at least bits of it. Hondas seem to suffer this more than many cars, so keep well away if you're still on your original rocker cover paint!

I'm sure Bri used to jetwash his engine bays too. I've never tried it as I'm scared I'd break something

I've done it before, stayed away from electrical bits

to be honest it didn't do much, steam clean is probably way to go

Is it any different to a wallpaper stripper with the big steam pad removed?

In my engine bay it is not caked on crap, more a build up of dust etc.. There is still dust in there from when my car was last resprayed.

Yep - it's an actual steam cleaner: Image

Need to buy the brush attachment again though, mine has gone walkies :(

Would that have a trigger though? Or would you just have a constant feed of steam - that could get interesting

IL that looks good. Same with that kit rob 8-)

If I were using a wallpaper stripper I would just chuck it on the floor when I wouldnt be using it. Yeah it would be a constant stream of steam.
