imho if you use the right application methods, the correct stripping methods and the right wrap you should not in any way damage the paint under it.

Or why would someone who ownes a 240,000£ super car get a full wrap when going on road rallies to protect the paintwork? Full wraps have been going on for years in the supercar/rally circuit and they are for protection of the paint underneath. I would not be too happy if big lumps of paint fell off when it was removed from my Buggatti Veron etc...

id go with marios idea. take it to poland and have a party while its getting done  8-)
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

My experience with wrapping trains is pretty much as LLL suggests - it does depend on application and stripping methods as to whether it damages the paint underneath.
Also depends what type of wrap it is and how long it's left on for, though. Something that's designed to be removed without damage, can end up causing serious damage to the paint if it's left on for too long

You need to maintain wrap too. If water gets under any small holes/tears, it just sits there and can cause terrible damage.

Wrap also does still need a good condition surface underneath in order to look good - it doesn't just go on and hide all ills... That's an area where plasti-dip would probably score more highly?

All valid points but the flip side is if you have a £X00,000 supercar are you too worried about having your paint redone

Being serious though yeah, there are right and wrong ways to do things. It just seems with this new fad of wrapping erryting people are using it as a replacement to respraying as opposed to actually doing a proper job.

My proposition is take this £2000 go to poland have it done for £1000 and spend very good time partying.

Prices here are sick. For repairing this what I brought from euro meet they told me £750 if I bring my paint. Then later when something will go wrong I'm sure they gonna blame my paint. In 4 weeks I'm going to do it but in Poland. It will cost me £200 and I don't have to worry about anything. And on top of it I will have 2 weeks hol
This seems like a cool idea. :o  :geek:

I need some rust sorted plus resprating my whole front end plus my sides and spoiler. So might as well get it whole car done!!

Why is it i have this vision of turning up in Poland, producing £1000 cash from my pocket and then getting clubbed on the head

Must be the Glaswegian in me

When i went to pick up my Prelude i had the cash in one pocket and a shank in the other in case it was a set-up

Back on topic

I presume a wrap comes with a guarantee? Hadn't thought of the problems that might occur if it does get scratched

Plus paint gives so much more satisfaction when you keep it looking amazing! But then it is a fortune to keep cars clean these days...

Jees-oh, this is a tough choice

I went to the bodyshop to get a price to patch my car up, this is including deep scratches and some filler work. This checked in at about 880 GBP. Now it is tempting to go to poland and have it completely done fore 1000,-
But then again the other grand spending partying my ass off  is also well spend on some performance parts.

Oh and I would be partying (with) my pants of in the NL anyways.
Its just that I'm not attracted to Poland as holiday country.

Still tempted tough :|
