Bird Poo and white cars

Maybe consider a coating, which is more resistant to bird lime Gtechniq make some good ones, as do CarPro and Art De Shine That will be my approach once I've corrected my paint.

Coatings are no different from waxes. I still manage to remove them very easily when prepping cars fir respray. It's the silicone rich waxes that are bitches. Causes all kinds of paint reactions.
A hard coating won't resist crap but will help reduce it's eating if clearcoat.

But I don't gave issues with crap eating lacquer it's the amount they crap on pearl white.
Luckily the lacquer I used on my respray us thick and hard unlike thin soft Honda lacquer.

That's the idea Less damage to the clearcoat. Some of the newer coatings have to be mechanically abraded to remove, as opposed to panel wipe/IPA type products that some can be removed with.

And the hawk method definitely works. Mate of mine has a Harris Hawk, no birdies for quite some distance around his house, merely from the presence of the hawk

It's not white car specific IME. Where I used to work was near the sea and the roof of the building was used by hundreds of gulls to roost and breed (until I netted the entire thing ) and it tended to be dark cars (particularly dark red and dark blue) that they targeted in the car park, regardless of what random order they were parked in. They never targeted the silver or white work vans that spent the most time there for some reason.

I'd say it probably depends more on other factors like where the car is parked in relation to their nests/flying routes to/from their nests/regular perches when they're either out hunting or on the lookout for predators? Probably how the sun catches/reflects off a particular car at a particular time of day etc as well, that kind of stuff.

Incidentally, a hawk was no good at that location, the bird blokes we had in said there were way to many gulls, they were too large and too agressive and they wouldn't risk the Hawks against them! I had to get a couple of the gulls shot once after they attacked a guy and made part of the site off limits by dive bombing... You should have seen what that did to the rest

I think its pearl white. My van i parked next to the car and its a much larger surface area and that never gets hit.

Either way its under a car cover now.

We had that near where I used to work. Nesting on the roof of our unit, dive bombing customers as they came in, not good at all!

Did they do that mental "calling all birds everywhere" thing, where once you've shot one, all the birds in the world turn up for an instant (and enormous) sky funeral? I thought they were all coming to get me à la Hitcock's, "The Birds"

Exactly that - the sky was absolutely filled with them, coming in from everywhere... Even the pest control blokes with the guns legged it inside!!!
