Hmmm,

Some dissension towards wrapping....

A lot of the people backing a respray seem to have access to the equipment or a mate they can get a cheap deal from. I have neither of these!
I know this is the million dollar question, but how much am I likely to pay for a full respray.
Anyone here had one??

Sorry for the thread jack:

Can you put a clear wrap on top of Carbon Fibre? I would like to put a clear vinyl wrap on the Carbon Fibre bonnet so it stops it getting stone chips etc.

I have carbon wrapped my Del Sol, I did it because it was cheap. I can tell you 100% when you remove the wrap it WILL peel off some of the lacquer or paint in places. I would also go for a full respray if your budget can stretch.

Maybe plasti dipping it is another option, as its cheap but doesn't damage the paint like a wrap.

The reason I am thinking about getting a wrap done in the first place is that the paint I have just now is ruined.
To be honest if I did decide to peel off the wrap it wouldn't be too much of an issue if it affected the paint underneath as it is poor anyway.
Every panel on the car is scratched/scuffed and if this wasn't the case I would just get a few panels resprayed and that would be the job done.
That is also why I was considering wrapping as I believe it will take a lot of prep to do a full respray so this will jump the cost up even more!
If I am doing my sums right I was estimating that a wrap may cost £1000 but a respray £2500. Does that sound about right?
Also, I guess it might be wise to visit one of these wrapping places and check out their handy work and ask the questions!
The reason I was asking on here first is that I was presuming that if I went there, obviously they are gonna tell me that it is the best thing since sliced bread haha!

Check my gallery. I have resprayed my car about 3 months ago. Ask anybody from national meet how it looks like. I can give You full details who did it for me.

My proposition is take this £2000 go to poland have it done for £1000 and spend very good time partying.

Prices here are sick. For repairing this what I brought from euro meet they told me £750 if I bring my paint. Then later when something will go wrong I'm sure they gonna blame my paint. In 4 weeks I'm going to do it but in Poland. It will cost me £200 and I don't have to worry about anything. And on top of it I will have 2 weeks hol
