drokk polishing by hand. pointless. polish by machine once a year and apply sealant/wax every month. S'long as you are washing correctly you should only ever need to top up once a year on a polish. remember, every time you polish you are removing material. Polishing by hand gets no results in comparison.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

that not cheating, thats just lazy.
once you have clayed and polished all of the car, washes are so much easier.
oh, and i learnt the hard way.... once you have done all of this... never take your car to one of those wash your car for a fiver jobbers. they use a very high detergent content soap and it strips all of the wax off and leaves masses of holograms in the paint too.

Well, I've not got myself a polisher yet, although I did buy a mitt, some car shampoo and a microfibre drying cloth.
I've not done the 2 bucket method before, nor used a mitt. I was really impressed how effortless cleaning with a mitt was though! And it gives you a chance to feel up the sexy curves of your car
here's how the lude came out after a quick wash at any rate. All I did was rinse with a hose, wash, rinse again then dry:

I'm quite pleased with that
The plan was to wash the Prelude, Accord and Scirocco, however it rained as I finished the Accord off
the paint is looking a bit flat on the Accord too, which is bugging me. Is polishing likely to help it look better? When there's water on the car it looks amazing, but when it dries off it looks jobby again!

I reckon the best piece of kit in my arsenal is my Snow Foam Lance. If you have a pressure washer, then in my opinion this is an essential bit of kit.
Basically you give the car a foam pre wash, it bubbles away on the car, lifting the dirt and then it drops to the floor. You can then rinse the car and then carry out your normal wash process.
Our Honda paint is so soft & gay that even looking at it scratches it. Once you have spent hours with the polisher getting that almost flawless finish, you want to keep it that way. Snow foam massively reduces the chances of scratching the paint during the wash process.
Watch your microfibre cloths too! Make sure you have a nice soft/plush one and always pull off the label! Never use a shammy, they drag dirt and cause scratching. Shammies are the true work of the devil.
I repeat, not all sponges are bad, i use a grout sponge from B&Q, this is very similar to the uber expensive Zymol sponge and has been proven to be as safe as a lambswool wash mit. Sponges are generally bad, but not all sponges!
Here's a thread i did on DW to show the effectiveness of a decent Snow Foam - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... p?t=241248
