Bonding, rather than welding?

Post by Kawa » Fri Aug 30, 2013 11:41 pm

Have been getting prices to re-do my wheel arches. One place say they now bond the replacement panels in place rather than welding.

Anyone have any opinions on this?

imagine the moment when you get a puncture, cant get the jack underneath so shout a mate to lift up on the arch to raise the car slightly..... lift.... rip. bollox.

Alot of manufactures today bond chassis panels together now. But they are designed in such a way though. Older cars. weld imo.

they are just future proofing themselves as its a 4th gen :D they kow you'll be back in in a year so its easy to heat and debond and slap a new one on.

I would want weld though unless the price was much lower.
