4th Gen Rear Bumper - missing reflectors?

Post by simonc » Fri Aug 09, 2013 3:03 am

Hi all and hope you're all well. Last week while getting a new exhaust fitted I was looking at the rear bumper while it was up on the ramp.
There's an 'indentation' near the bottom of the bumper, running most of the way across it which looks like it needs something in it. Interestingly, at the far left and far right of this indentation are two holes which look to me like something should perhaps fit there.
I've had a trawl around but all I've found is that reflectors were fitted on US spec cars only.
Just looking for confirmation from you guys if that is case and if it is then I just leave them off.
Thanks for any advice or direction with this question. Simon.

Sounds like you're talking about the normal moulded recess across the bottom of the bumper, on the outside?
That's there on everyone's and from memory, yes there are small holes one in each corner of the recess. No idea why they're there but it's normal.
If I've understood you right :?

Pics would probably help! :D

This is a completely standard rear end (Although an import, so no rear fog)...

You can just make out the two holes at each end of the recess as mine has been painted silver...

Again, no idea why they're actually there. Must simply be part of the moulding process (Maybe to let air out ???)

Hi all and thanks.
Wurlycorner, the pic that Nathan put up is the bit I was talking about ( glad you could decipher my non-technical description without a pic!)
So, I guess from what you're saying, there's nowt that goes in there.
Thanks once again for all your replies gents.
