Impressive gains for basic changes:

My OCD is going overtime with that vid. While a lot is true, all those bits added will be good for the engine, just repeatedly putting it on the dyno time after time may have boosted power. If some granddad has been driving it for the last X amount of years it could be down on power through never going above 3K rpm.

Good basics to change over regularly though.

"we'll do each test 8 times and take the highest figure"
err, surely you'll take the average Jason?

definitely going out to get a bottle of Redex though!

For those using Shell Optimax (or nonce power, whatever it is these days), doesn't that come with fuel system cleaner in already?

Yes. But for £5 a few times a year, a bit of Redex will compliment that.

Plus, not everyone uses Optimax/V Power/Nitro + (or whatever it's called now)

I'd be more inclined to go with BG44K though, instead of Redex. Although it is a bit more expensive. More concentrated.

I think you mean complement ;)

But yes, Shell V-Power Nitro+ has some sort of lubey magic in it. Not sure if I would choose Redex/similar a few times a year over consistently using a better fuel though, but each to their own init.

Well I'll be buggered; I pride myself on my literacy, but I never realised there were two spellings/meanings for compliment/complement. :o Exciting times! :P

Or perhaps not that exciting..but at least something new learned today. ;)

Agree on the fuel situations, but when I get my H22 installed I'll be using fuel system cleaner periodically & decent fuel. Best of both worlds then innit. :)

Every day is indeed a school day. Probably why I act like a child most of the time ;)

I'm curious about this Terraclean business but I can't remember who it was on here that had it done recently

we use bg44k at kwikfit, i would only recommend once or twice a year as its so concentrated and strong it can damage engine internals if used too much, my supervisor used it a few times within a month or so and its ruined his engine. We only really use it when a car fails its MOT on emissions. But yeah good stuff when used in moderation as you can defo feel the difference :)
