no mate. tony is my electrical guru at my work. Gordon's old unit physically operates but does not illuminate, where as iirc yours does not do anything. so i have given the unit from Gordon to Tony to find out why it does not illuminate, so when we get this unit powered up and illuminating we can then determine whether its its your unit that is dud or if its a power to the unit from your car issue.
