Dredd was a reason of why a remake should be made when it's made right. This could be another. As far as Man of Steel goes, I'm sorry, but it's my favourite Superman film. The original Christopher Reeves Superman I imagine is going to be argued to be the best, but it's seriously dated now. You have to remember that these films are being made for the new age to appreciate them, and I appreciate that

my issue is that the film was basically a horrendous visual wankfest with next to no scene linkage, pitiful storyboard development and the need to put over emotional ''manga screams'' into every shot they could. I honestly found myself wanting the original original film on and I'v not sat and watched that for 15 years.

Dont take this the wrong way as you said you liked it but I honestly feel this and many other films are being made/remade to fit with an american audience which is detuned to thought and overtuned to sensation. The audiences of yester year were able to cope with much more difficult plot developments and didnt shy away from using their brains to understand the development of a story arc. Now its just scene after scene with as much flashing light as possible and as little content as can be factored in.

I actually turned off the new TOTAL RECALL in utter disgust and watched the ohhhhh sooooo much better original.
Audiences are being trained to accept films like mano of steel as great reimaginings rather than the callow money spinning hollywood wage machine paperback trash they really are.

if they have done half the job on this as they did on that then I'll not waste my money or time. that makes me sad.
