Lude Generation

looking for a larger disc and caliper to clear my alloys, can anybody tell me if the ATR caliper carrier is the same as the Prelude, if not do you know the exact differences? os the carrier further away from the hub etc?

Ok, so forgot about the search function! Found out lots of useful information and found out all I need is to find some ATR carriers, use my existing prelude calipers and fit 300mm accord discs.

Anybody got any carriers for sale who may have used the original 282mm discs?

I have a set! They won't fit under my 16" wheels, I'll have a hake for them.

Can anybody recommend a good set of 300mm discs? I have just found out mine are not warped but have uneven amounts of pad material on the surface of the discs due to overheating which is causing vibration at high speed braking. The info on the stoptech website is a pretty good read!

Hmm, just found out ATR discs are 28mm thick, and prelude calipers fit a disc of 23mm, hmm, what to do!!

So you'd need 300mm x 23mm discs? There must be a way to look that kind of thing up!

Really? So your sure the standard prelude calipers will fit over the thicker 28mm discs with the ATR Carriers??

Could you push one of your lude calipers back and measure the gap?

100% sure bud, the 23t and 28t is the stamp for the thickness of the disc, those that upgrade on the civics have to shave part of the prelude carrier for the mg discs they use as there 25mm thick, the caliper handles it fine, its actually known those that use the 28t carrier have popped the piston out using to thin a disc, since your 5 stud you can just use the atr disc as the pcd is the same which means your using the correct thickness disc. Ive done lots of research into oem upgrades

Ah right, I am just a bit curious as to whether there is room between the pads to fit a disc thats 5mm thicker, it doesn't sound right to me, but I shall do what ingoleman said and measure the distance between them, unless you have done this already?

What are considered the best ATR discs to get? Stoptech keep popping up, are they any good? I like the idea that the non brakng surfaces are already painted black.
