I grabbed some PSF at Halfords this afternoon.
However.... when I got home I read the manual and they are kind of specific that you have to use the Honda stuff. Halfords listed all 4th and 5th preludes as compatible with their PSF.
Should I take it back and order some Honda Fluid... or just go ahead with the stuff I have?

You'll be fine to use it bud. Assuming you didn't get the stuff specified for cars from the <80's

should be ok but i probably wouldnt mix them - id drain the old fluid off and put all new in but wouldnt recommend using the halfords stuff to top up old honda ps fluid

Putting the wrong fluid in can degrade the seals.
Take it back to Halfords Giomani and get the proper stuff. It's not expensive!

I'm pretty sure some 4WS peeps had problems with non-Honda PS fluid, back in the PUK days.

From memory it was Masta Cutz who had a problem with non-Honda fluid. 2WS/4WS shouldn't make a difference as 4WS is electrical.
I'm going to replace the PAS fluid in my 4G, who knows how old it is

.

I've been running halfords power steering fluid in my UKDM for months now, since the oiler cooler leak/lash up pipe replacement. It's been fine.
I've also been running it in the porka for a couple of years and it's been fine in that, too.
