Just a quick warning for anyone doing their brakes soon.
I've just replaced all of the pads on my 5G with Pagid pads from Euro Car Parts. 6 of the 8 pads had to have some material from the end tabs removed to allow them to fit properly. Not much material but the high spots on them were significant enough to allow the pads to move freely.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

No. The pads themselves look good.Merlin wrote:Yeah thats very common. I had to remove 1-2mm from all ends of Honda OEM pads when I fitted them last week.
I thought you were warning of Pagid pad material being crap.
It was more a warning that the il-fitting of pads can cause severe brake binding issues.

The only pads I haven't had to file away some of the powdercoating from recently have been my current set of Carbotech pads on my Legnum.
I've got the opposite problem, though, they're so loose in the carriers that they rattle over every single little bump in the road!
So... I'd rather have the powdercoating a little thicker and file them down to be a good fit with just enough movement to slide but not rattle, than have not enough there and they rattle like mine do!
