Brake caliper sliders question.

I'm currently rebuilding a set of calipers, and I've noticed that on each caliper one slider has a black zinc plating, and one has a gold zinc plating.
The top and bottom sliders also have different part numbers, so I'm assuming this isn't a wear/dirt issue.
Does anyone know why?
And which was the top/bottom one, as I've now forgotten

There is one slider pin with a flat edge to it, on the rear this is the top slider and on the front the bottom

Super, I didn't spot that.
Anyone got any ideas on the zincyness?
Purely out of interest.

I have never noticed a different finish to any of the pins.

All four calipers had one of each.
I would post pictures, but Bilt Hamber seems to have made them all go to a dull silver

sounds like theyve maybe been refurbed b4 and some of the slider pins have been swapped out - ive seen both black, gold and silver/grey on different calipers - always assumed silver/grey was just plating had worn off.
i wouldnt worry about it - but as merlin says best check that one slider pin per set has two flat edges along the shank and position them as hes mentioned.
