Pagid calipers - any experience?

Post by Supermarine Blues » Sun Aug 26, 2012 3:59 pm

Hello dudes,

My right-hand rear caliper has started weeping. Looks like the nipple may be seized, too.

Given the price of Honda prats, I might stick on a pair of Pagid exchange refurbs - does anyone know if they're any good, or if they don't do them for a BB8 or anything I should watch for?

I've had nothing but a PIA using non-Honda prats before and I fear I may be unleashing much gnashing of teeth by attempting to save a few quid.

TIA

My refurbed rear calipers are pagid refurbs. No problem in two years. The calipers themselves will be OEM but the parts used (seals etc) will not be. I got mine from Eurocar parts.

Other thing worth noting: all rear calipers on all 4g's and 5g's are the same. So second hand parts such as the ones JDM-BB4 (Dave) is selling (which are recently refurbed) will also sort it out for you even though they are from a 4G.

Got some from Brakes International in the end. Good service.

Suffering from the usual excessive pedal travel ATM (why do they seem to balls-up the bleeding on Hondas?) and the handbrake's little better. But that seems to be the state of the pads/disks largely - probably because the old calipers were under-working them.
