Lude Generation

My 5g, hi-mile (237k), 2ws Prelude has recently learned a new trick. The steering feels as though it's full of molasses. Not noisy, not crunchy, not grindy, no free play but requires more effort than usual. It also won't return to straight ahead without help. New pump (refilled with Honda fluid) did not help nor did a lot of bad language. What now?
