Steering wheel swap?

So, getting acquainted with my mk5. Trouble is I'm quite tall and the steering wheel is massive. If I have my foot on the clutch I can't get my left hand any further than 9 o'clock on the steering wheel. Mine has cruise control but I don't really use it. I'm thinking about swapping it for a narrower wheel.

Will any Honda steering wheel fit? I've got my eye on a momo off a jdm civic ep3 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201918531959? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Thanks in advance.

Aye fairly easy swap. Just scary playing with airbags  :o
Just remember to disconnect the battery fully and that your wheels are straight before the swap so it's centered.

I am not a short guy at 187cm and I had the same problem as you with the oem steering wheel. I purchased an ep3/dc5 momo wheel off of a member here and it is a lot more comfortable. I can heel and toe without my leg touching the wheel.

How i do it

Unplug the battery

Take the plastic pieces of the steering wheel

Unplug the airbag

Unscrew the airbag

Unplug the wiring for the horn and cruise (when it has cruise)

Loosen the bolt and get the bolt out

Than make a center point with a marker in the center

Than get the bolt back in and pull the steering wheel loose and get the bolt out

Now you can put the new wheel on
