Sorry if this is covered elsewhere but cant find anything.

How big a tyre size can you go on a 3rd gen before rubbing issues etc. Need new wheels so am assuming 6.5 wheels, 35mm offset?

Cheers all

What size rims are you planning on?

If you want to stretch tyres you can fit 9.5" wide wheels with 215-40 tyres if that's your thing, if you go 17" 17x7.5 wheels with 215.45.17 but it all depends on your suspension and bump stops. I had 15" wheels once with 205.60.15 tyres which was a smooth ride...

I used to run 205/55r15's on a set of 15x7J et26 rims. Lowered about 35mm with absolutely no rubbing issues...

Sorry, hadnt checked in while...
was going to go 16 inch, on something like a 6.5 inch rim with an offset of 40. Currently have 7 inch with a 35 offset and the rear wheels extrude past the wheelatch, so want to bring them in about 10 mms.
Was going to try and keep 60 profile tyre, but could bring this down if there are rubbing issues?

So got new 16 inch CMS alloys for my 3rd gen and want to go 195 60 16 tyres. I dont want to run a lower profile tyre. Has anyone had 195 60 16's on? Any issues?

Lol, i dont suppose there is much difference between 60, 55, 50 profile. Just want to keep the retro look. I was there in 1989 and ultra low profile werent the thing. Maybe i should scale back to 55's or 50's.
