Tyre width

Post by Therealjj91 » Thu Aug 11, 2016 5:18 pm

My car needs an MOT and it will need 2 new front tyres so I might as well get 4 good ones, my tyre size is 205/50/16 would I be okay going to 215/40/16?

What width are the wheels?

215/40 is teeny tiny. 215/45 is better but if it's 6.5" wheel you won't see a benefit.

I'd go for the best 205/50/16 you can afford. Rain sport 3 or ad08 for pure jizzness.

Thanks for the response, how do I find out the size of my wheel? They're wheels off a civic.

They are probably 16x6.5" like all Honda wheels unless the Integra type r dc2 98 spec which are 7".

The size is on the back of the wheel.

Well I ended up getting Kuhmos 205/45/16 cause the price seemed reasonable and they get quite a good write up so I'll see how they go after a few miles when I can actually give them some stick

That's such a small tyre size. I couldn't do it myself. 8-)

Yeah I know a bit of a risky move but I like the look of the lower profile :D
