Rota slipstream on 5th gen??

Post by thusee » Sun Jan 31, 2016 10:27 pm

Hey guys so I have started looking for a lighter set of rims for track and street use but mainly for track. There is a set of 16 gunmetal slipstream's BNIB available locally to me and was wondering if anyone is running these on their ludes here and your thoughts?

The rims are 16x7 with 40mm offset

Thanks Fam :)

Haha I know they will fit. Thanks ☺

@rattymclelland what size tires did you run? How did it feel?

I'm looking more for how well they are on track/street.

Right now I have the DC5 16 inch rims which which I'm thinking of selling and weigh about 16 pounds I believe and the rotas are 13.9 does the 2 pounds actually make a noticeable difference??

1kg difference. Won't notice much. I went from 19kg banded steels to 9kg alloys on my van and only just notice a better response. However the van is drive by wire steering so that's irrelevant.

I ran 225/45/16 ad08s and it was great.

Hm thanks for the info!

I'm not in any rush since wheels will be one of the last things on my list but if I find a deal I'll jump on it.

Still have to deal with the engine swap haha. Got parts stacked beside my bed waiting to go on once swap starts

I like the slipstreams but they need to be bigger (17") and wide enough to just fill up the arch nicely.
