Please help!!!!

Post by JDMYO » Thu Jan 14, 2016 5:36 pm

Guys so I just brought some Holstein shocks with eibach springs for my 5 gen prelude. They are off a 4th gen, I've got the shock in and I'm trying to do up the top hat nuts and they will turn by hand about 2 turns and then stop, I've cleaned up all the threads, the nuts look like they fit and they turn 2 turns, then go tight. I tried a little bit more pressure and now one of the threads just turns with the nut? I don't understand why their not going?

Did the nuts come with the shocks?
You sure the thread is the same pitch?

As much as I love the konis, I got these for a bargain! No the nuts are the standard ones from the standard shock. I guess they are different but there can't be a lot in it. I was presuming the thread would be the same. I'm going to look tomorrow for some nuts to fit! Pain in the arse!

like wurly says it will probably they are a different pitch of thread
is it the nut that threads down on the centre of the shock or the ones that hold the the top hat to the bodywork?

It's the nuts that hold the top hat to the body. I thought they were standard too, but I guess they must be different, I'm going to hunt around for some tomorrow, had to put the old shock on for now.

I got some nuts, I couldn't find the same shape as the standard ones with the little flange, so I got some nylocks and washers. Should be ok right?
