ATR discs on stock lude

Post by MaccaIRL » Wed Nov 18, 2015 1:34 pm

As above
Can I use the ATR discs with the standard prelude calipers/pads?

Weird q I know but can't wrap my head around it as the breaker tells me they'll work but in my own head I'm thinking... If the lude is 282 and the ATR is 300... I don't know lol

anyone any thoughts?
It's just the front discs, black diamond with minor surface rust from an ATR for 60 quid

Yes you can but you'll need the carriers from the atr. The prelude calipers are the same size (mounting hole to mounting hole) as the atr ones. But the atr carriers are larger to accommodate the larger disc diameter.

The carriers are often the hardest bit to get hold of. If you can find them get them!

VTEC Lude discs are 282 x 23mm in 5 x 114.3 PCD
ATR discs are 300 x 28mm 5 x 114.3 PCD

Does the thickness of the ATR disc stop it from being used with Lude calipers? You could always use EP3 discs are they are 300 x 25mm 5 x 114.3 PCD.

Tbh I was hoping it was more plug and play than that lol

Just going to save and get prelude specific upgraded discs and pads, can't see there being a huge braking gain in 18mm

@merlin yes you can still use the prelude caliper with atr carrier and atr spec disc.

I used this setup on my lude whilst I was refurbing my atr calipers and the discs (mtec ones) did not catch on the pad (atr spec brembo items). Pads and discs were brand new so would've been the tightest fit but certainly did clear everything :-)
