Hi guys, searched but no answer I'm after.
Those of you who have take a car out on the track of have some good info on a track tire.. Please post your findings!
I am going to buy some new track tires when I get bigger wheels. I have 888 now but not used them on the track . Started looking into other makes and now I'm lost!! There are so many!
What are you running on the track ? Semi slicks only..

A048 get the thumbs up from me and heard good things about the AD08 tyres (both by Yokohama).

R888's are pretty much the industry standard IMO. Most use them. I use the Federal 595 RSR only because they are so much cheaper.

Ive used R888's A048's and Dunlop D01J's.
I found the R888's gripped well but went off pretty quickly.
The D01j's i found were a little too hard but this was down to getting a used set that were quite old so think the compound had gone off.
The A048's were by far the best offering up loads of grip for a long time. I'd have these again.
However, ive been reading reviews on the Kuhmo Ecsta C03 and i think these are the next tyre i am going for for track.

I've been running nankang ns2r soft compounds they are a road legal track tyre and the grip is immense on a nice dry track. However they are terrible on the road on a wet morning. Mine cost me £400 for 4 in a 235/45/17

What size tyres do you need? Sometimes you cannot get tyres in a particular size. For instance another reason why I have never ran the R888's is that I cannot find them in 215/40/17's.
