brakes on my bb1

breaks on my new bb1 are shocking my transit connect brakes are better
new pads and discs all round and they have bed in
anything I can do or upgrade the calipers cheers

I'm not sure about 4th gens but (and I'm presuming it'll fit - bar the discs) the accord type r/legend/nsx front setup is quite a popular route

ive just looked at nsx front calipers £600
so accord front set is a lot better than the prelude ?

Yeah, plus, if you get the carriers too, they're 300mm discs.
The calipers are twin piston rather than the single piston on he prelude.
Do you know what diameter your discs are at the moment?

Your standard brakes should be enough, it sounds like something is not right with your brakes IMO. When was the last time your brake fluid was changed or bled? I only have ATR brakes on my 5th as I got them for a good price. My stock brakes were always good enough.
ATR discs are 5x114 stud so wont fit the 4th gen, or re-drill the hole pattern on the discs. The calipers will still fit though.
If you are up for getting in there I would take the calipers off and see what the slider pins are like, if they move freely, and give things a scrape and clean.

hi merlin there not right at all ive only had the car 2 days true with the stud pattern ;/ ill put some resh fluid through see if that helps

unless your going to use the lude as a track car, or plan on bumping up the bhp a significant amount via whatever direction, as Merlin says the standard brakes are good enough. sounds like you just need new disks and pads and maybe if you have time, refurb the calipers at the same time as they tend to stick after a few years. braided hoses are a bonus too but not essential.
front pads are your most important item to get right, rear pads and front & rear disks can pretty much be anything budget.

Mine used to be crap; so I rebuilt the calipers, fitted braided hoses and did a fluid change and now they are awesome.
