PAS hose

Post by lxstuart » Thu Aug 20, 2015 5:11 pm

Does anyone know where to get power steering hose from?

The hoses going to the PS fluid cooler on the Legend (it's not just Ludes that do it) have gone.
Honda can't supply the hoses, as they're discontinued, and any motor factors I've phoned have little to offer, other than umms, aaahs, and scratched heads.

One place suggested that fuel hose should be ok to use, but his demeanor braced me with little confidence.

There are some places on the web that sell the correct hose, but they all seem to be in the USA.

Any ideas?

Petrol hose should be ok. It's what I used as a temporary lash up on my 4th gen a year ago.

Otherwise, try a local industrial hydraulic repair hose supplier they will have pukka stuff.
Somewhere like this (a local one to me just for example).

See if you have a pirtek branch near you.

I used some fuel hose from halfords. This was to loop/bypass the cooler. One thing to remember (not sure if the legend is the same) is that the pipe for the cooler is low pressure (the pressure drops as its used in the rack), so its not going to burst.

Mines been fine for a good few months now, not a drop leaked since.
