Got advised by Honda to look at upgrading the ball joints on my car rue to it being lowered.
Wondering what/if any other people have gone for?
I've had a poke around and prices vary from like £11 on eBay up £200+
Please advise

There is no point in 'upgrading' the ball joints if you are lowered, unless you want camber adjustable uppers to counteract the camber change. The OEM's are very good quality and more than up for the job. However I've just replaced one of mine with a Sankei (555) and it looks to be a really good quality part.

^^^^ this. And if you wanna adjust your camber then go for SPC upper ball joints. I'm running them on the back for last 2-3 years and they fine

Good to know!!
I'll check the condition of them myself next weekend. May just replace as they're pushing 20+ years

I have changed the front lower ball joint a couple of times
the first one i fitted was a cheap chinese make and that didnt last
it has been replaced with a Delphi part which looked a bit better quality
so Delphi or ADL Blueprint if your on a tight budget and OEM if you feeling flush

If it's down to age, don't forget to check for wear in the scranion flanges too.

This may be a stupid question... But what is the scranion flange? And is it easy for me to check?

Not a stupid question at all. They are a bit awkward though. There's one on either side a couple of inches back and slightly above the fogel.
You're looking for any significant play around there really, just give them a wiggle.

I think that Doggo is telling you it is out back, past the shed, round the corner, next to the long stand

Yes, held up by the sky hooks.
