Hey dont know if this is the right place to put this

Looking at lowering springs at the min but im used to buying coilovers... which is a little out of my price range at the moment lol

Is it worth the wait to replace all the shocks etc or will springs do fine?

Looking at 30/40mm and prefer a brand like apex.. can get them off ebay for 130 afaik

Car has done 145k and no sign of leaky shocks etc

Up to 40mm is fine on standard shocks in good order.

Consider Pi springs as well ;-)

I went for Meister R Coilovers instead, I was considering springs but I knew I wanted to keep the car long term so thought I would just bite the bullet and pay the extra for the coilovers. I am very happy with them, they have improved the ride, handling and broken suspension look no end.

However, when my shocks were taken off Rich at Performance Autoworks did say they were re-usable. None of them were leaking but I was getting a bit of shock knock from one of them. Not bad for 20 years and 100k miles of use.

It's the bushes in the top mount. Once they compress/wear over time it allows the damper shaft to move up and down that worn amount and so you hear that knocking when you go over bumps.
