Just want to know what people's thoughts are on alloy vs steel wheel nuts and what brand is best. Ideally I would like red colour. I have had d1 spec alloy ones but they faded in under a month :?

Only ever heard bad things about the alloy ones with threads stripping and such (probably because they were done up with a windy gun). Personally...only ever had steel ones :-)

Hmm I too am curious about this, have also heard that the alloy ones are prone to threads stripping etc...

Similarly intrigued as to what aftermarket alloy nuts are like.
My 924 had alloy nuts as standard and they were fantastic. Light as fook and never gave any problems at all. Obviously a really good high spec alloy. Not sure how good aftermarket ones for the lude are in comparison?

@dbo how are your wheel nuts? If I recall you had some as a gift not so long back.

There are so many counterfeit aftermarket wheel nuts out there i would just avoid them altogether for that reason.
This may be why some people are reporting problems with threads stripping. Cheap fakes

I have had problems with alloy nuts in the past but I used a set last season on my 4G. The only issue I had with these ones where that when hot they didn't want to come off. I'll be replacing the alloy ones with forged steel nuts like all my other sets of nuts.

I don't know what everyone's beef is with alloy nuts to be honest. I've ran a couple of different sets, from cheap D1 Spec internal drive nuts to Tegiwa long nuts (in red I might add). Never had any problems. :?

By ran do you mean you took them from the letterbox to the garage at faster than walking pace?

Someone was gonna do it ;)
