Hi
Honda prelude 1998 2.0i
just wondered if someone could advise if the problem that i have i what i think it is,
Upon driving the car, every 10 seconds or so, i get a deep wining noise coming from the drivers side front wheel,
Ive been told its most likely the wheel bearing,
does this sound right?, and if so what kind of price should i be looking at a garage quoting me
Just asking so i dont get ripped off for the job
Thanks for the help
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Hard to say from your description, but a duff wheel bearing can start to make a whining noise yes. Have you had a route around underneath? No loose CV boots or anything like that?
As for job difficult, the fronts are a cheaper item - anything from £40+ depending on brand of bearing but the labour is more because the old one has to be pressed out of the hub and the new one pressed in. Whereas the rear bearings come complete with a replacement hub = more expensive, but less labour.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Rob
