Lude Generation

Hi everyone
Just had all 4 wheels aligned to try and stop my lude feeling like a danger death trap. 86 quid at kwick fit . But it's not solved the problem and I'm wondering if any of you guys have had and solved this problem .
When accelerating fast the front wheels suddenly feel like they are not attached to the steering rack any more and throw the car all over the place , then when you let off the accelerater it wobbles again
I've checked all suspension and steering rack , drop links , sub frame, roll bars and everything is done up and sound .
I'm beginning to think maybe it's somat to do with the lsd not transferring power equally to the wheels ? But I'm not 100 percent sure I've even got lsd .
It's most noticeable after 5500 rpm so maybe vtec ?

I doubt it has been done correctly, especially since the steering wheel is not straight. Did they use the correct equipment? Did they use a locking pin? Did they set the electronic steering sensors to zero?

P.S. My local Honda dealer quoted me £50 for alignment.

All I can say is that you need to take it back straight away as they haven't done it properly as the steering wheel is not straight!! Start with that. 4ws system req locking to do accurate 4 wheel alignment. Does it have 4ws??

This is enough to demonstrate the guys that did your alignment didn't have a clue what they were doing/no pride in doing a good job.

If your car has 4ws, I wouldn't trust kwik-fit to touch it for wheel alignment tbh (or probably any of the other fast fit places, unless they tell you they know about using the locking tool etc.)
But yeah, if they left the steering wheel wonky... bunch of cowboys!


p.s. I heard mec only charges a fiver for doing wheel alignments (including driving to you...)

You used Quik Fit...think you answered your own question buddy.

Try taking it to a proper garage...or Honda.

yeah there are very few guys at kwik fit that know what they are doing I was lucky I got there and the guy knew all about 4ws and was happy to talk about it and did a great job but these guys are few and far between

It's 4ws and the problem was there before the alignment and it has improved the handling at low speed , but as soon as you give it some it's all over the road and makes your arse tighten a bit .
Didn't think of going to honda coz I phoned them for a lower ball joint and they wanted to sell me the hub as well for 360 quid ! So I assumed alignment was gonna be evil dear and didn't consider even asking them lol.
I didn't watch them at kwik Fit track my car so don't know if they used a locking pin.

I'll get my wallet out and go to honda and see what happens I'm assuming they will have a locking pin ?

don't assume buddy!!! ask them if they do

They SHOULD have a locking pin. But its old equipment so they might not have one. Best just to ask, and if they ask what 4WS is, then tell them to go and learn a little. (seriously, you would be surprised how many service receptionists don't know ) But as we said, you NEED to get it all aligned properly, especially with 4WS. Then go from there
