Lude Generation

So I've been thinking of getting an ally fuel tank for inside my car but then had a thought . Is there any reason I can't mount my stock fuel tank in the spare wheel well ?
I will be sheeting off the boot space anyway but does anyone no if this is possible.

it does need to be in an enclosed space I think it even needs to be sealed although quite a few cars have tanks in the boot like the alfa 164

Jon, as I am turning mine into a dedicated track car (towing it everywhere ) I am also thinking a alloy fuel tank for inside the car. But the only thing that is stopping me is what benefit will it have. So that's my question I personally wouldn't fit the oem tank inside the car purely because you couldn't customise it in regards to fuel filling, pipe routing ect. But I may be wrong I was also told by a veteran hill climb racer that in front of the crush zone/rear axel is the best place to put it due to that it could get split if hit up the arse.

I would also fit swirl pot if I was fitting a alloy tank. Just to be sure against fuel surge.

Its wont fit in the wheel well and the oem tank is fat. Plus you want the fuel tank as low down as possible surley.

Unless is a small tank for small amounts of fuel for track driving with the OEM one removed i feel its a bit pointless.

It was just a thought I had but as you say there's no real benefit unless fitting a smaller one to save weight .
I would also definatley fit a swirl pot if I do go the alloy fuel tank route buy for now I think I'll leave it. Cheers for the reply guys
