Lude Generation

Hi, i found a list on Preludepower for known interchangeable parts, one of these being coilovers from 89-01 Civics. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried them and if they do fit with no modifications as underneath the same list it also states that not all of these have been tested. Any info would be hugely appreciated

Not what you're asking for - you can get 3G coilovers from Gaz, and I think I saw BC mentioned.

May be cheaper to just go that route, as I'm sure Civic coilovers will be just as pricey.

Thanks man but aren't the Gaz and BC coilovers around £6-700? Thats more money than i'm willing to spend. I can get coilovers for that year Civic for around £3-350 and as i'm not particularly fussed about ride quality thats what i'd rather do. Just would rather it was guaranteed they will fit before i buy them

Fair play. I think someone looked into this earlier this year and I'm pretty sure it was 500+ so outside your budget.

Only thing is the Prelude is a much bigger car, Civic parts might fit but they won't be right for it... fair enough you're not worried about ride quality but you don't want it to handle like jobby.

Think you were getting confused with Gaz shocks for 2nd Gen Ludes Donald (The only custom supplier for the 2nd gen). I had BC coilovers fitted to my 3rd gen. They were awesome and would easily go low enough for a slammed lude.

I'm pretty sure any Civic shock will be a no go. I think I read somewhere that they're just too short. You'd have to run silly small wheels in order for the tyres not to constantly rub.

you can change springs to shorter/longer. that what people are do on some tein coilovers. For example to 4/5 gen lude i heard that using evo 4/5/6 rear coilovers to go in rear

Its the length of the shock body thats the main issue.

Yeah, you can't extend the dampener shaft which dictates the overall length.
