Power Steering Leak

Hi Guys,
My 3rd Generation has just sprung a leak in the power steering cooler. Can I just by-pass it ? Or is there a source of easy replacements ? Is it steel that can be welded or soldered? Any ideas to fix it ?
Thanks

You can by-pass it for a short term fix, yes.
Haven't looked for 3rd gen cooler replacements, but if 4th gen ones are anything to go buy, you'll be spending a fortune with Honda, trying to find a decent used example or going for a universal after-market replacement?

Thanks for that. I'll pull it apart over the weekend, take a closer look, probably do a temporary fix and then decide what to do for a permanent fix.
Thanks for your help and advice guys.

I replaced the one on my 4th with a piece of 10mm aluminium pipe (though you could also use copper), bent through 180 degs, which is basically the same design as 5th gens.

Thanks for the tip.
I've just finished making a new one out of copper tubing - seems to work well and even looks good - so I'm well pleased.
One other point though - in the process of re-making the power steering cooler I removed and replaced the radiator with a new one. But it's running hot at the top and cold at the bottom so the thermostat switch is not turning on the fan. I think there is an air lock. How do I bleed the cooling system ?
As usual - thanks all round for advice.

Not sure on 3rd's, 4th's and 5th's have a bleed nipple on the stat housing.

It could be that you aren't waiting long enough, Preludes have very efficient cooling systems.. I thought mine was drokked but I kept it running and eventually it sorted itself out.
