Accord 8th Generation Type S or 2.4 Brake Upgrade
Accord 8th Generation Type S or 2.4 Brake Upgrade
Hi Fellow Luders. I am thinking about upgrading my front brakes, someone suggested to use parts from a Accord 8th Generation Type S or 2.4 motor.
What do you think, and what do I need exactly, and from where, if I do?

Re: Accord 8th Generation Type S or 2.4 Brake Upgrade
Could be right but bare in mind the 8th gen also has 280mm on the rear to help balance the brakes out, im sure other parts will be better to like the brake cylinder/booster, putting 320mm on the front and running 262 on the rear(prelude standard) will seriously effect the brake imbalance.Blue Lude wrote:Apparently an ATR upgrade is like Fred Flintstone braking with his feet compared to the 8th gen...lolnewkid wrote:From memory its 320mm as standard on that gen on those models, apparently a direct fit but as Phil said poss ott for a standard lude.

I have 330 x 32mm discs with 8 pot calipers on the front OEM 262's on the rear. Brake balance is fine with no locking up of the rears. I can get 2 sets of my good 17's over them. My other set of crappy 17's doesn't fit but no big loss.
I had a look of Europerformance and the largest Accord brakes I could see were 300 x 28mm which were for the Type-R
The 2.4 was listed as 300 x 25mm.

@Merlin here u go
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Accord- ... 0609403647
320x32mm, rears are 282x9mm

Im planning on trying to get a set of rear carriers to see if they are a direct fit to the lude as it would be a good upgrade to go with the ATR fronts when I get round to fitting them, would give me 300 front and 282 rear
EDIT its the 9th gen accord with the larger brakes
