Coilovers?

Post by GreenyUK » Mon May 26, 2014 8:17 pm

Right so the car my missus just bought has coilovers on which I am steeling for mine
Upon looking at these there is no damper control on the strut top? I thought all coilovers had this?

The tops look like standard items?

I'm pretty sure they are coilovers though ...

Tops that look standard. Same all round.

Oh good lord  They are a sleeve over system. Bloody crap IMO. Get shot of them and fit some decent springs ;)

Ah really.. The lad has been using this on track for ages says it handles well.
Never heard of sleeves.

Guess MrsGreeny can keep these lol I'll get real ones.

Edit. Mercurial, right I see so you can just adjust hight.. That's rubbish lol

Its a sleeve with thread on it. It slips over the shock, sits on the oem spring mount and allows you to adjust height on stock shocks. Its dangerous imo as usually the springs are way to hard for stock shocks.

Edit: been beaten to it
