Which tyre size for 17's on Gen4?

Hi guys, just wondering would 225/45 R17's be too big for a lowered Gen4, or would 215's be more sensible.
Don't want it rubbing constantly over bumps or round corners that's all..but do want to go wide.
Also, don't want to go 40 profile really cos the ride is a bit crashy. Or wouldn't this be as bad on a 225?
Opinions?

Yeah, maybe I should have said..
"I'm going to buy 4 x 225/45 R17 tyres for my lowered Gen4. Does anybody think this will cause me major problems? Or should I submit to 215/45 R17's?"

Why are you asking essentially the same question but with different words and colour?
You will most probably still get the same answers.

Yep, same answer applies...
NafemanNathan wrote:Yeah, one of my old lude's had 225/45r17's on 7.5J ET38's and they rubbed on hard cornering on the fronts (outer arch) and on the rears when the road dipped away on motorways with two people in the car and a bit of weight in the boot. It was only lowered 35mm on the front as well with no 4WS.
So I personally would advise against that size on a lowered 4th

Yes, the different coloured font has forced the answer I need..
Thankyou Nathan, I will be going for Uniroyal Rainsport 3 - 215/45 R17's -
HERE.
Cheers gents, you're unrivalled experience & patience has seen me good once again!

I'm going for the 87Y's from them

We don't need the 91 load rating and I can only assume the 87's will be fractionally lighter
