Lude Generation

So last week I hit a pothole and a short while later my ABS light came on.. so I thought it was a sensor.
But a couple of days later and my ABS didn't trip and I thought it had fixed itself.
But since it's not tripping out when I come to stop, The last 10mph-0 theres a clicking noise from under the passenger side of the dash and the brake pedal keeps tapping back at me when I put my foot on it and I have to keep re-pressing it to stop!

Has anyone experienced this before?
Is the ABS ECU drokked?

Well it sounds to me like the abs is triggering itself without needing to So either its a sensor damaged, sensor ring damaged or the modulator/ecu is tripping out . Try pulling the codes from it, may give you a starting point chap.

Yes, I've had this, so dangerous as it increases the time it takes to stop when pulling up to junctions. It did not throw a code, until I checked for one and it turned out to be the front o/s sensor.

mart. jack the car up. spin the wheel slowly, check for a crack in the reluctor ring.


the sensor thinks it has locked up so releases the wheel that is affected.

also could try abs reset, I know there is procedure for the 5th gen

When was the last time you changed the ALB hose, or at least bleed the ALB system?
The hose connects the ALB pump to the resivoir, and is a service item.
When to much air gets into the system, you tend to get the feed back / Brown pants at junctions.
You need a special tool to bleed it.

Reset procedure is to remove the highlighted ALB fuse from the under bonnet box for 10 seconds.
