Review: First Line rear stabiliser links (rear drop links)

Ever since I bought my car in May 2005, it suffered a clunk noise from the near-side rear. It was suggested that a common cause can be the rear stabiliser links sometimes referred to as rear drop links so I decided to get them replaced during October 2008. The pair I purchased were produced by First Line Ltd, their part number is FDL6893 and cost me just £22.00 + £5.00 P&P through eBay. They cost less than the price of one single rear stabiliser link if purchased from Honda. The equivalent Honda part number is 52320-S30-003. Unfortunately, this didn't resolve the issue so the fault must be elsewhere.

However, the reason I am posting this is this:- while giving my brake calipers a fresh coat of paint during the summer of 2010 I noticed that the rubber bushes on the rear stabiliser links fitted during October 2008, were falling apart. So, in this instance, saving money by buying parts made by First Line Ltd turned out to be false economy as they didn't even last two years.

During October 2010, during my car's 99,000 miles service I had them replaced with genuine Honda parts costing £44.86 each.

It seems you get what you pay for.
