Removing toe adjustment bolts from 4ws arms.

im trying to dismantle all the 4ws stuff i took of my car for better storage, the nut came of and the bolt moves, but how to actually get it out? can i just whack it through with a hammer or something??

I would like to keep it all in reusable order if possible, just incase i decide to swap the 4ws back in.

if your gonna whack the bolt put the nut back on to protect the thread and use a mallet not a hammer

Yeah that was the plan, but im not entirely sure of the way the bolt adjusts things and didnt know if whacking it might damage some unseen compnonent! lol.

the adjustment is there for you to see buddy look at the elongated hole the washer you took of is eccentric to hold the adjustment

yeah i figured that was the case, but was unsure if there was anything else happening inside. and i tend to try and avoid attacking things i dont fully understand with hammers!

Those bolts usually seize to the metal sleeze that runs through the centre of the bush.
Try and see if the sleeve or the whole bush, is just spinning as you turn it.
That would explain why it's not coming out easily.

Ok thats good to know, as the one on my car is seized at the moment apparantly. gotta get a bar on it to try and crack it to get the alignment done.

I guess if the bolt snaps i use a hammer and punch or something to get it out then replace the sleeve, bush and bolt?

I struggled with mine for ages, the only way was to get the grinder out and take the head of the bolt off.
